This herbal tea was created for the intended purpose of alleviating constipation which then leads to a bowel movement. Featuring all natural ingredients this product also is said to work within 6 to 12 hours after ingesting.
It’s supposed to provide relief in a relaxed and calm manner as opposed to a rush that may affect the stomach negatively. It is also organic on top of providing a herbal remedy for constipation relief.
Is there actual proof that this is effective? Let’s discover what it actually does.
Traditional Medicinals have been around for 40 years with home offices based out of California. Their lineup includes teas for Detoxing, Calming Tea, PMS Tea(Menopause), and sleep enchanting tea mixtures.
Although not mandated they are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. This forum allows for customers to air out any concerns or opinions about the company, which in turn can resolve any issues.
A self described Pharmacopoeial quality of ingredients exist here. Oddly enough the definition of Pharmacopoeial is a collection of drugs which is not what this product actually has or is.
Bowel movement activity is increased by the introduction of Senna leaf, it is said to gently stimulate this process. Meanwhile the other ingredients reduce cramping which make for easier bowel movements.
This process is stimulated thru the power of natural herbs that are told to provide natural stimulation of the intestines. It is unclear as to how this product will affect people as herbs work differently per person. Some have reported an increase of bowel movements after waking up but without clinical trials it is uncertain if the body naturally produced this, or if the tea worked.
While it does have natural ingredients, the key ingredient Senna leaf may exacerbate stomach issues and it is recommended to be taken in moderation as side effects such as abdominal pains may occur. For products that don’t have a whole host of potential side effects we recommend better suited alternatives.
Ingredients:
Potential Side Effects: High blood pressure, dehydration, low mineral absorption, headaches, increased stress, organ failure, and uncomfortable heart rate.
Warning label is clearly listed on the package and there is an interactive map that notifies of the most local distributors.
Though the product does have all organic ingredients there are unidentified issues present.
There is currently a mixture of all but one of the ingredients inside a proprietary blend. Since some of the ingredients such as orange peel oil can be detrimental in large amounts, it does not allow accurate dosing of this ingredient.
The main ingredient featured Senna is only intended for short term use and there are verified reports of organ failure in some. Couple that with the fact that its laxative effects may come on too strong. Currently there is a warning about taking this product due to the complications with those who have stomach issues. Also since it is intended to be taken for a maximum week it still does not provide a long term solution.
There is a notice to watch out for overdosing on this product. Though all natural it still warrants a close inspection of its potential side effects.
What further complicates things is the notice of immediately stopping use of this if you have abdominal cramps. These cramps are common during constipation so its uncertain how this product actually works.
Offering a tea seems like a wholesome idea for a supplement until you peer back the label. There are cases of organ failure with the key ingredient here. While it is not guaranteed, the fact that this has happened in some makes it particularly frustrating. Couple that with the only one week use of this recommended and the mixture of potentially damaging ingredients makes it an even harder gamble.
Bottom Line:
All natural doesn’t always mean a more wholesome and healthy solution. To combat this there are solutions available that aren’t littered with various warning signs.
Instead of relying on a substance that is only short term at best, we recommend the alternative solution. All natural products not reliant on lacking results that may never come are made now.
