Prime Drive – Side Effects. Is it safe for you?

What is Prime Drive?

Coming in either strawberry melon, orange limeade or cherry pomegranate flavors, Prime Drive is a weight loss powder that claims that it can help boost metabolism while simultaneously burning fat. Not to mention suppressing the appetite and raising energy levels. The secret behind this product’s claims, are the South America ingredients that are included that make this product effective.

The end result of using this product is weight loss. Or so it’s claimed. But haven’t so many other companies marketed something similar, boasting similar statements? What makes this product in particular stand out from the rest of the pack? We decided to find out.

Who makes it?

Diet-PillsPrime Drive is manufactured by Complete Nutrition, which has locations across the United States. The company’s headquarters are in Omaha, Nebraska. Complete Nutrition was founded in 2004 and gears it’s products towards sports nutrition, weight loss and general health and wellness markets. Prime Drive can be purchased either from Complete Nutrition’s website or stores.

How (and) does it work?

Prime Drive is used to help raise metabolism and energy levels in the user. This comes from the various stimulants that are added into this product. In addition to this, the damiana leaf, guarana and yerba mate which are included also help keep the user full, so this product also works as an appetite suppressant. For weight loss, users are instructed to mix 1 scoop of powder 3 times a day with 8-12 ounces of water 15-30 minutes before meals. It is also not recommended to exceed the advised amount.

Users have complained about the adverse effects that the stimulants in this product may give off. In some cases the users disliked this so much that they gave this product a 1 out of 5 star rating on the company’s website.

What’s inside of it and are there side effects?

There are 12 ingredients included in Prime Drive’s proprietary blend. None of the amounts to any of these ingredients is listed. The blend is made up of a lot of stimulants that are known to boost energy levels, mental cognition as well as metabolism. Other ingredients are known to help with muscle recovery and to help aid the stomach. Not every ingredient included is all natural, which is unlike diet pills on the top 10 list, which are solely made of natural ingredients.

Ingredients:
  • Polydextrose: A substitute for sugars and fats in food products, this is known to be a non dietary fiber that may cause intestinal gas if too much of it is consumed.
  • Guarana seed extract: A stimulant that is known to boost metabolism as well.
  • Yerba mate leaf extract: Coming from a plant native to South America, this is known as a stimulant that is used to treat both physical and mental fatigue.
  • Green tea leaf extract: A popular ingredient in diet pills that is known to be full of antioxidants, as well as giving the user both a boost in metabolism and mental cognition.
  • L-carnitine L-tartrate: Known for it’s use in muscle growth and recovery.
  • Damiana leaf extract: Coming from a plant that is native to latin America, this is believed to help treat stomach ailments, as well as boost mental cognition. Also claimed to be an aphrodisiac.

  • L-theanine: Known to have a relaxing effect on users that is free of drowsiness.

  • Inulin (chicory root): Known as a treatment for constipation, this ingredient is not absorbed into the stomach but instead goes to the bowels, where it helps improve functioning.
  • Theobroma cacao extract: Coming from a plant that is native to Latin America, the seeds of this are used to make chocolate. Known to lower blood pressure and improve mental functioning.

Possible adverse effects from use of this product may include the following:
Nausea, jitteriness, dizziness, nervousness, insomnia, dehydration, palpitations.

What’s good about it?

This product contains green tea, which is not only known to be effective in helping people lose weight, but also being full of antioxidants as well.

What’s bad about it?

pills-06There are no clinical studies included on the company’s website that prove that this product really is effective in helping people lose weight. In addition to this, none of the ingredients included in the proprietary blend have any given amounts, which makes it hard to decipher which ingredients are actually working and what aren’t.

Another issue is that there are a lot of stimulants included in this product. Some go from the basic green tea and caffeine anhydrous, to the much more powerful citrus aurantium. These stimulants may not bode well for people who are sensitive to them, and there have been many complaints of the adverse effects experienced from this product, as well as the energy crash when it’s over.

This isn’t a cheap product either. With an online price of $44.99 and a retail price of $59.99, you are definitely going to be feeling your wallet get thinner if you decide to purchase this product.

Wrap Up

There are a lot of stimulants included in this product. If you are not someone who is accustomed to regularly taking stimulants, the adverse effects you may experience may be enough to stay away from this product entirely.

Bottom Line:

The amount of stimulants in this product is something to be aware of. There have been various reports of adverse effects from use of this product because of these ingredients. Dietary supplements don’t need stimulants to make them effective in helping with weight loss. Combined with a high price, and there’s more than enough reason to try something else.

Cheaper, more effective dietary supplements are available that won’t have you crashing hard like this product will.
