Slimfast Review – Shocking truth about Slimfast

What is Slimfast?

One of the most popular brands that features a host of different products intended to satisfy demands for a meal replacement strategy. Each bottle contains varying amounts of protein as well as an additional 24 vitamins and minerals.

They offer bars as well to assist for snack options that are also low in calories. It’s all meant to provide a solution to weight loss within the Slimfast umbrella. However, is it the optimum meal replacement and how good is it?

Let’s figure out just how useful Slimfast really is.

Who makes it?

A few companies have owned this brand and it is now in the hands of the Kainos Capital LLC group. This equity firm manages food and beverage companies.

shakeThe company had to peel their products off the shelf in 2024 due to fears of potential contamination though the source was never figured out.

How (and) does it work?

The plan is to replace two meals with their shakes and eat only about 500 calories in one meal daily. They claim to satisfy hunger for up to 4 hours when taking either a bar or one of their shakes.

There are 2 gaping issues however. Their bottles of liquid shakes contain a good amount of protein however they do contain soy. Their dry mixes contain half the protein at 10 grams and 22 grams of sugar. These two issues plague the product and neither is really a suitable choice.

First off the soy laden product has GMO’s while the other dry mix contains sugar which may potentially cause obesity as well as an increase of blood sugar.

It’s frustrating to see both of these issues spring up as the product claims to provide all the nutrition needed for effective weight loss.

What’s inside of it and are there side effects?

Depending on the product you either have an option of soy GMO or incredibly high sugar. Neither of these are an issue when you consider the best in the top 10 list.

Ingredients:
  • Mono and Dyglecerides: An additive that keeps fats and water binded together.
  • Artificial Flavor: Synthetic additives added to mimic the taste of natural ingredients.
  • Soy Lecithin: A fatty soy based substance added to promote the ingredients texture or taste.
  • Cellulose Gel: Fiber source taken from plants.
  • Calcium Caseinate: Protein source taken exclusively from less fatty milk products.

Potential Side Effects: Increased bathroom breaks, vomiting, fatigue, stomach cramps, diarrhea, gas, bloating, and headaches.

What’s good about it?

This product has a wide availability and can be found online and in many major stores. The website also offers a neat BMI calculator and the site is easy to navigate and informative.

What’s bad about it?

Make_a_Fat_Burning_Protein_Shake-300x248What’s lacking is missing in a huge way. No matter which of the brands you get from the liquid form to the powders intended to be blended, there are detrimental aspects lurking.

What is needed in a proper meal replacement is high quality protein and low sugar. Depending on the type you can only get one which has decent protein but still has high sugar and soy. The 22 grams of sugar more than doubles the amount of other products on the market. It cannot be understated just how harmful sugar is to the body. Especially those looking to lose weight the spike in blood sugar and increased rate of potential obesity is too high. It amounts to at least 44 grams of sugar a day if one were to use it as intended.

Also if one were to just get the other product, it has artificial ingredients and GMO soy. Soy has been linked to be one of the highest GMO crops and this is no exception. A full host of potential negatives is linked to soy consumption and to have to be exposed to it daily is not the way to go.

Wrap Up

The product claims one does not have to change their lifestyle in a comprehensive matter. This might be true if the product had a bit more to show for itself. It’s great in that the product has a long standing tradition as a meal replacement however, it still doesn’t cut it with the new solutions that are available. Outdated practices and artificial ingredients with either high sugar or GMO soy limit this products effectiveness. There are for more satisfying options that exist in your journey to lose weight.

Bottom Line:

Slimfast has a lot of marketability but what it lacks is real substance. This is noticeable when considering all the best meal replacements that made the elite top 10.

Making the right decision for weight loss is now simply a click away. So take advantage and see what other customers have rated to be their utmost favorite solutions to weight loss thru a listing of the top 10.

This product would be great if you removed the “gmo’s” that are added to it

  2. Barbieanne says:

For SlimFast users be warned that the strawberry version now contains beetroot, presumably for colour. Unfortunately I bought three tins off the supermarket shelf for my son and beetroot is one of the foodstuffs he is allergic to alongside tomatoes!

  3. Sheila says:
