WonderSlim Review: Does it Really Work?

What is WonderSlim?

Weight loss foods that range from less caloric desserts, drinks, and even full scale meals. They claim their food not only tastes good but that it can help reduce weight when supplemented correctly.

They give basic rundowns for acceptable foods outside their own for both women and men, so people can make the correct purchases when shopping. Their products are even sold in different kits that can help provide meals for weeks at a time.

Dieting can be complicated for some so how does this stack up? Let’s see what it can do.

Who makes it?

Generic-pillsThe head company Diet Direct comes from North Carolina and they offer supplements and nutritional foods for overall health. They currently have a good standing with the Better Business Bureau.

How (and) does it work?

Thru a comprehensive exercise tracker and nutrition tracker there is a very regimented scheduling that requires daily consideration to track progress.

Essentially some of the calorie counting is made easy thru the prepared meal packages, however since some meals need to be found elsewhere customers need to make sure they track how much and what they eat using the list of acceptable foods provided.

Also with exercise one needs to make sure enough calories are burnt in order to achieve results. The idea behind their foods is that you it’s considered lower calorie and able to satisfy cravings.

By inputting your personal information(height, weight, and ideal weight) and by tracking all the foods and exercises you do it then shows how your progress is going. Though this may work for some it is essentially something you can already do with free apps that track information like this.

It takes a lot of dedication and isn’t really anything new that people with enough time and dedication couldn’t have already gained.

What’s inside of it and are there side effects?

There are several products offered some of which contain controversial ingredients such as artificial flavors, corn syrup and food coloring. Products that are meant to be wholesome should have high quality ingredients and fortunately they do exist.

Ingredients:
  • Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil: Oils with added hydrogen to solidify and keep it from spoiling as quick. It contains trans fat which has been linked to a rise in coronary heart disease, the leading cause of death and it’s known to increase obesity.
  • Blue #1: Food coloring added to increase the look of blue. It may cause allergic reactions in some.
  • Yellow #5: Known to be the most allergy causing of all food colorings.
  • Caramel Color(Contains Sulfites): A sterile food coloring often sourced from many common allergens such as dairy.
  • Disodium Phosphate: Food additive meant to stabilize and thicken foods. In large amounts it can contribute to several stomach issues.

Possible Side Effects: Abdominal cramps, diarrhea, hyperactivity, gas, bloating, constipation, elevated cholesterol, increase in weight, heart related issues and coronary heart disease.

What’s good about it?

They offer an interactive app that tracks nutrition and exercise. Also company has a lot of positive reviews for customer support.

What’s bad about it?

Bottle with falling out pillsWonderSlim attempt to provide an easy solution to dieting, however the process quickly becomes complicated with the jumbling of so many different demands.

You aren’t allowed an ease of use with all the necessary tracking. One must exercise then put it in a database, then you’re given foods that are meant to satisfy however there isn’t much in terms of ingredients in these meal replacements that you couldn’t find for cheaper in an average market. You also have to do your own cooking outside these meals and make sure you select only from the menu they provided in the amounts they allow. There isn’t much flexibility added.

Daily you have to meticulously track your progress and this becomes very time consuming. You end up spending your time just like any other extreme dieter would .The major difference is that instead you get meals that have several artificial ingredients and even ingredients that have been shown to cause obesity.

The addition of Hydrogenated Vegetable oils is alarming, they contain trans fat which has been directly linked to obesity and heart issues. The only positive of this is that they keep the ingredients fresher but at the expense of gaining weight which is what this product claims to avoid.

Wrap Up

Though the company is reputable in customers eyes, it isn’t the most optimal solution to weight loss. There are a lot of flaws such as the necessary dedication of time and energy that can be done without the addition of these products. Unfortunately the meal plans have counterintuitive ingredients containing Trans Fat which actually increases weight. It doesn’t make practical sense to add these in yet it is included. It would be cheaper and more wholesome to instead make your own meals instead of paying for foods that have potentially harmful ingredients.
