Phenatrim-D – Does it Really Work?

What is Phenatrim-D?

After the numerous accounts of negative and potentially dangerous side effects associated with the substance known as ephedra, Phenatrim-D alleges that it may be a safe, side effect free replacement. This product states that it is able to surge your metabolism and energy levels to new heights, while abolishing any thought of hunger from your mind.

Unlike other diet pills, this one does not require a prescription. The catch though, is that it comes at a pretty hefty price tag that is over $65. So is it any good then? Our curiosity got the best of us and we decided to find out.

Who makes it?

818pillsCartersville, Georgia is home to Lazarus Labs, the creator of Phenatrim-D. Founded in 2003, this company is recognized to produce non-prescription based pharmaceuticals. Four years after it’s inception, the company gave birth to the product was know as Phenatrim-D. To people who are members, the company will soon allow them to have access to a fitness tracker as well as diet plans, exercise programs and discounts. Phenatrim-D may be purchased exclusively from the company’s website.

How (and) does it work?

This product alleges that it may not only expedite the metabolic rate, but quell hunger, give you an explosion of energy as well as incinerate any fat deposits that you have throughout the day. It does this through the use of stimulants as well as a substance that steps up your mood in positivity. Users are informed to take 1 tablet 20 minutes before breakfast with 8 ounces of water and to repeat the process again sometime from lunch to early afternoon. This product may cause sleeping problems, so it is not recommended to take in the evening.

Some people feel that the advertising campaign was very well done, but that it tricked them into buying a product that did virtually nothing to change their weight.

What’s inside of it and are there side effects?

Standing in for ephedra, there are stimulants in this product that are meant to act in a similar fashion. Additionally included with these stimulants are 2-phenylethylamine which enhances the mind, hordenine which improves metabolism and yohimbine which makes the effects of the stimulants more dynamic. Because of the stimulants, there are side effects that may be experienced, which is unlike the natural diet pills on the top 10 list.

  • 1,3,7 trimethylxanthine: A robust form of caffeine that is marketed to accelerate the rate of metabolism, as well as increase urine flow.
  • Synephrine: Chemically a twin to the banned substance synephrine. Although legal, this is still known to cause serious adverse reactions, the likes of which include myocardial infarction.
  • 2-phenylethylamine (PEA): Stemming from an amino acid, this is known to alter states of mind into more positive lights.
  • Yohimbine: Infamous as a remedy to sexual dysfunction, this is acknowledged to intensify the effects of stimulants.
  • Hordenine: An alkaloid found in grasses that may accelerate metabolism as well as quell any thoughts of overeating.

Adverse reactions from use of this product may include the following:
Jitters, sleep disturbances, anxiety, nausea and arrhythmia.

What’s good about it?

Hunger quenching, a factor of utmost importance in weight management, is addressed in this product.

What’s bad about it?

pills-06A downside of having a product that doesn’t need a prescription is that, that means that there are a lack of clinical studies on it, since no doctors or scientists are there to prescribe it in the first place. Like many other diet pills, this one makes promises that it will be incredibly effective, while at the same time providing no evidence unto these claims.

There is also a bit of false advertising, as the company asserts that its products are free of any side effects. Looking at the ingredient list however, we find this hard to believe, especially with the amount of stimulants that are included in this concoction. A list of possible adverse reaction can be found in a preceding section of this article.

Lastly there’s the problem with the price. With a month’s supply costing a whopping $67, you really need to think if this untested product really is worth shelling out so much cash. If you plan on using this product more than a month, the cost will easily cross the $100 mark. And that’s only after two months!

Wrap Up

For such an expensive product, it would be nice if there was more backing behind the declarations that this product makes. Unfortunately there isn’t.

Bottom Line:

It’s simply naive to believe that this product won’t give you any side effects, especially after one takes a look at the ingredient lineup. Additionally, there is no scientific data to support any claims that this product works at all. Top of the line products always have supporting data. While this may replace ephedra, that does not mean it is an compitent weight management product.

Other diet pills can help you reach your target weight more efficiently.
